hard to believe the month of July has come and gone and I'm already 20 weeks pregnant (yes I'm showing now I don't have a picture for you). We've actually got our ultra sounds scheduled for tomorrow and I'm so so so so sSOOOOOO excited. It's fun to see Trent get excited about it too. He even felt the baby move a couple weeks ago. I remember the first time he felt Ethan give a little kick and how much more apart of the pregnancy that made him feel so I was anxious for this little guy to start kicking away.
I started my new daily routine at the radio station on July 14th. Charlie, the host liked that a former nickname of mine had actually been Charlie so we became "The Charlies" and I enjoyed working with Charlie immensely. He had a lot of experience under his belt and I was so anxious for him to teach me all that he was willing to teach me. After two weeks however, Charlie must have decided that his mid-August departure was too far away and on the weekend of the 25th suddenly resigned. It wasn't until the following Wednesday however, that I learned he wasn't just out sick but had decided to leave. At first I felt pretty slighted at the fact that my mentor just up and left without breathing a word, not to mention the fact that he hasn't returned any of the calls that I made to him last week. *sigh* hurray for unexpected drama. I suppose every work place needs a little, eh?
So we have a fill-in who is a really good guy but the polar opposite of Charlie making for a rather interesting adjustment the past couple weeks. I have decided however that it's important that I try to be as bubbly as possible on the air so as to help keep our listeners entertained and tuning in for more. Not that our fill-in isn't entertaining he's just not what listeners (not to mention myself) are used it. It's a little more difficult to play off of him, for example sometimes he'll suddenly turn to me and I have absolutely nothing to go off of and therefore have no idea what he would have me so. I'm working on that. I think when push comes to shove I'm just needing a better attitude about the whole situation. That attitude adjustment should have started immediately but as it is the firm realization didn't fully hit until today. Ready or not here goes, right?
The semester ended and Trent has been working like a mad man to rack in some extra cash during the break. He's started working his windshield repair business more and more and working hard to find some temp jobs to do during the break. What's difficult is the fact that he's been sick as a dog all week, he's miserable but he's still doing all he can to push through it and get done all that he needs/wants to do with the time he has before the new semester starts. This is the probably the 3rd time he's been sick this summer and of course it's always perfect timing for it. He's miserable and frustrated but he's not letting it get him down.
I'm sure there have been other events the past month but I'm up later than I have been since I started my new job (I did however sleep from 12:30 to 4:30 today) and I'm starting to shut down a bit.
Life's good. Seems like I should be a bit more stressed out than I am considering a few other things that may be coming into play shortly but as it is I'm feeling surprisingly content. The morning sickness is gone, in spite of some unexpected drama I'm really liking my new gig at the radio station, 2 of my piano students resume their lessons tomorrow with 2 others beginning again in September, and a new student potentially starting soon; aside from this bout with whatever it is, Trent is doing well and Ethan is becoming a more of a little boy every single day... a gabby little boy at that.
I think that's all as far as updates..... I'll think about it tomorrow when I'm more coherent and see if there's anything I've left out.
Until then a few random pictures minus captions (for now) to tide you over.
