Happy Birthday Ethan (Sept 22nd)

2 years ago we welcomed our first born into the world and I can't thank Heavenly Father enough for blessing us with Ethan's presence so early on in our marriage, he has taught us so much about love and patience and the importance of trust and faith in the Lord in all that we do.
WE LOVE YOU ETHAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weekend in Taiwan

My father-in-law is an incredibly busy man, bouncing from meeting to meeting and place to place. Last weekend for example he had to be in Taiwan for the annual Melaleuca Convention and like most trips it was pretty much a there and back trip. Knowing that I served my mission in Taiwan my amazing other Dad invited me to join him on this particular overseas venture. Trent needed to stay home to work and we had yet to obtain a passport for Ethan so it was just me that tagged along this time. We left Pocatello about 4:30 Thursday afternoon and arrived in Taiwan Friday evening about 10 p.m. (no it wasn't that long of a flight we just lost a day) then made our way back to the states Sunday night around 8. Quite literally a there and back and I wouldn't trade it for the world.
It's late and there's so much to tell about the trip so I thought I'd leave a few teaser photos for now. More details and pictures to come when I'm a little more coherent.

Crabbing 2008

This year we left for crabbing a day early which made for a whole extra day to do whatever the family thought would be fun. So we made our way to the beach! And man oh man was it ever cold.

My camera shorted out just after I took this picture of Connor and I was so totally bummed because we hadn't even gotten to the bay to start crabbing. So needless to say this was the last picture that I took of this year's trip.
The crabbing wasn't nearly as plentiful as it has been the past couple of years but there was still plenty to go around for dinner Saturday night.
Trent had been working pretty much non-stop up until the trip so I was so excited to finally have some time together with him..... unfortunately the night before we left was the night that I had spent all day in West Yellowstone working at Playmill. I say unfortunately because as a result of the long hours I spent preparing for and performing at the Playmill in my pregnant state my emotions were a little off making me overly sensitive which made for some very insensitive moments toward my husband which made the weekend just a little less enjoyable. I don't enjoy having my emotions so volatile. And neither does my husband.... to say the least.
In the car on the way home I apologized (again) for having been so sensitive and my husband (who has always been wonderfully wonderfully good and communicating how he feels about things) told me that in spite of how proud he was of me for commitment that I had made to the Playmill earlier in the week, if he had known was it would do to me emotionally he wouldn't have me do it again. I reassured him that it was most definitely as a result of the stress and abnormal schedule of the week and he wouldn't need to worry about me being overly sensitive again. And so far that has proven to be true. So as much fun as I had at the Playmill come next pregnancy if asked to fill in again I just may have to decline for my husband's sanity sake.

Playmill Dejavu

Saturday, August 9th I get a call from Heidi Merrill... long story short they had a cast member who needed to attend a funeral in Utah the following Wednesday night and it just so happened that that cast member was playing the same part that I played at the Playmill 5 years ago and Heidi and Roger were wondering if I might be interested in filling in for said cast member. OF COURSE!!!!!!!! So Sunday night I receive the script, Monday/Tuesday I review the script (man I had a lot more lines than I remembered), Wednesday afternoon I was at the Mill going over stage directions with David, cast call was a group number rehearsal for little old me, and then a show at 6 and 8:30. Did I mention I'm five months pregnant? The cast was amazing and it was a pleasure to work with them. I can't even begin to tell you how good it felt to be on stage again... if only for one night.
