A week or so ago I received a last minute call to help out with a short filming for a company here in the area (Go Melaleuca!). This is Kiari with the super sweet hair/make-up artist, Sheri.

Jumparoo

We moved back to our little apartment about 2 weeks ago and amidst our unpacking we put Kiari in the jumparoo for the very first time. She was pretty content to be in it for a good little while and of course as soon as we put her in it Ethan needed to show her the ropes of it.


Even to the point of showing her how the jumping should be done.Talk about the best big brother ever, eh?!

My Little Man was Sick......

A couple of weeks ago Ethan was really sick in fact he was the sickest we had ever seen him. Started out with the usual stuffy/runny nose and a cough then the cough gradually got worse. Then, on a Wednesday night he had a fever of 102. He was so miserable and it was so hard for Trent and I to see him like that. He was so sad and uncomfortable, at one point it even seemed as though he was having some mild hallucinations. *sad face* After a luke warm bath and some children's tylenol he slept well enough that first night. The next day I kept myself and the kids quarantined to our room (I read a lot of Twilight). He had some spurts of energy throughout the day and slept much better that night. The following day his temperature was pretty much back to normal but that blasted cough seemed to last forever!
We count ourselves lucky that when it finally caught up to Kiari it wasn't nearly as bad as it was for Ethan. She had a nasty little cough but she was a real trooper. I'm just grateful that 3 1/2 weeks later they're both all better.

Collegiate Dancers Showcase

A good friend of mine is the dance chair at BYU-Idaho and here a couple weeks ago she called me up and asked if Trent and I would be interested in putting together a few musical numbers for the dance showcase, to take the place of some dancers that weren't able to come down from Moscow. 3 numbers to be exact. So after some thought and a little help from my friend Elizabeth Bossard, we had chosen some songs. Trent would sing "Now and Forever" solo with his guitar; my friend Kathryn (who was super sweet to let me drag her into this!) and I would sing a jazzed up version of "Sisters"; and Trent and I would sing "Realize" along with our guitars. So this last week was a bit stressful and pretty crazy to say the least. But this was the first time that Trent and I had the opportunity to sing together since Beauty and the Beast 3 years ago and I had a lot of fun. I also loved the way that Kathryn and I blended, we sounded great together and had a lot of fun with the song.
We had Kiari with us backstage and of course all the dancers LOVED her. And every time Kiari had the chance to watch one of the dance numbers she was mesmorized by it all, the costumes, the lights, and movement. It makes me anxious to see whether or not dancing will turn out to be a passion of hers.
My parents were super sweet to watch Ethan. We had two shows this last Saturday and brought him to the later of the two. When Trent walked out with his guitar Ethan pointed and said, "That's my daddy!"
We had a lot of fun and the audience seemed to enjoy it too.

Wrapped Around Her Finger

The one day it was 60

A couple weekends ago the weather was absolutely beautiful! It was a Saturday and I was thrilled at the thought of being able to take the kids outside.... and even more excited about taking my first run around the block with the kids in the great double jogging stroller that my mother-in-law keeps here at the house. I couldn't have asked for more beautiful weather.... the stroller was wonderful, Ethan was excited to be outside, Kiari loved it as long as she was asleep, and the 4 miles jaunt around the block felt amazing. One perfect weather day and then came the snow. Kill joy. *sigh* It's only April 1st, surely by May it will feel something like spring outside. One can only hope.

Thanks Aunt June!

June Liao is pretty much my Taiwanese other half. We served together for 6 weeks in the mission field and have been great friends ever since. Our daughters even share the same birthday!! June found this darling outfit, bought one for her daughter Tianna, and sent another to Kiari. Super Cute!!

Draper Temple Open House

So I'm pretty sure it was Wednesday, March 11th....
My brother-in-law Brian wanted to take his boys to the Draper open house before it was done and invited us to come. My father-in-law even let us take the plane down! Thanks, Dad! And thanks Brian for the invite! It was a great day and a much needed break from the usual routine.
