You know it's time to Vacuum when....

Trent pausing before beginning a set of push ups on the living room floor. He glances from the carpet to met and says nothing.
Me: Are you looking at carpet that needs to be vacuumed.
Trent: I would if I could see it.

However.... having just witnessed Kiari mutilate an orange slice on the living room floor I'm not too sad that I haven't vacuumed yet.

p.s. I really don't wait THAT long in between vacuuming cycles.... my children are just very quick to act as soon as I have.

It's in the air.....

The snow is looking sad and defeated. It rained earlier in the week and I don't know that I've ever been more thrilled about the rain.
Today had multiple high and happy points:
the SUN was SHINING and BEAUTIFUL. As a result of that are the happy things....
Trent had been planning all week long to make Saturday a glass work day so long as the weather was nice. For those of you that may not know, before Trent and I met he started a windshield repair business. Last summer/fall he spent a great deal of time working his business on weekends and in between semesters. He loves it. He loves the work he's doing, he loves being able to do it outside, he loves the people and the sales. And I love that he loves it so much. So thank you Sun for shining so much today, allowing my husband to do something that weather has not permitted him to do for quite some time.
Trent had taken the car to work in Idaho Falls today so the kids and I dusted off the double stroller and spent a great deal of time outside today. Walking to and from a baby shower and just loving being outside. I love that Ethan is old enough to know the importance of staying on the sidewalk and holding my hand while we cross the street. So when he would rather walk than ride in the stroller there's no added stress. I know that if given the choice Kiari would much rather run around than sit in the stroller but it seemed like watching Ethan helped to keep her content enough. On the way home from the shower Ethan started making the sounds of various letters and asking what letter certain words started with. At a corner he pointed out, "that sign says stop!" and when I asked he was able to identify each letter.
We get together with a friend of mine and her little girl for Preschool twice a week and I've started taking the kids to story time at the library once a week. I should have been doing that allllll winter long. My sanity and their moods are a lot more in tact when we're able to get out of the house for a little bit everyday. I'm just now figuring this out? Hmmmm.....
Once home I let the kids wander the yard for a little bit before we headed inside. Part of our driveway is gradually turning into a miniature pond of meltage and wary as Kiari had been it wasn't long before she waded her way right into the middle of it. I had been on the phone and hadn't realized how deep she'd gotten until I heard,"Owie!" And there she was right smack dab in the middle of what I'm sure was very uncomfortably cold water. Funny thing was she just stood there staring at me saying "owie" for a bit before deciding she'd make her way out of the puddle. Silly girl. And there was Ethan just standing there watching, enjoying his mini Milky Way bar.
It was so great to spend so much time outside in the sun. Ethan asked me, "when the snow goes away can we go to the park?" Of course!!! It feels like the end of winter is that much more in sight. And I'm both thrilled and relieved. I'm so done with winter.

Dear Upper Body,

I would like to express to you my appreciation for the way in which you've been responding to my regular exercise routine over the past 2 months. If only Lower Body would get the hint!! Perhaps the reason Lower Body hurts so much today is because its finally starting to give in!
It's Zumba for us tonight!
Sincerely,
~Me
